What’s Your Journey?

A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with a local trainer concerning a question that was proposed to her that week by a client. This client was looking around the gym that day and noticed a few people in her classes had been showing up for weeks, doing the workouts and putting in the work, but didn’t “look” like they had made any progress. Using the same weights, looking the same way.

It was a fair question, especially to someone new to working out and looking for confirmation this was the best choice for her to achieve her goals.

The trainer and I went back and forth for a while discussing this and landed upon the same conclusion.

Everyone is on their own health and fitness journey!

We all know that exercise is good for us and can improve our strength, aerobic conditioning, and heck we might even come out looking a little better. (As a side note and just so we’re all clear, I fully believe in the self empowerment that vanity goals can offer) But this doesn’t mean that they have to be at the forefront for everyone.

Sometimes people are there for the social benefits. Sometimes for their mental health. Some just want to get in better shape for ski season. We all have our reasons and can benefit from the physical benefits of exercise and community around us.

That doesn’t mean our goals cant change. Maybe we decide that we want to learn how to move a barbell better and start olympic lifting, or train for a triathlon. It’s your journey, your choice what to do with it and as long as your choices match your goals and what you want to do with it, fucking go for it!

At Tundra Performance and Physical Therapy we individualize all of our plan of cares and all of our programs to you and your goals. We want your journey at the forefront of your care, your experience, and getting YOU back doing the activities you love. Don't settle for average and the cookie cutter rehab recommendations.
